The Norway maple tree (Latin Acer platanoides), or the plane-tree maple, or the plane-leaved maple is a type of maple that is widespread in Western Asia and Europe. The northern border of the range of this species reaches the southern regions of Scandinavia, Karelia and Finland, and the southern border ends at northern Iran. Norway maple grows in mixed and deciduous forests in small groups or singly.
